This is a private link by invitation only for 50% down on the upcoming M49 phantom-powered microphone to be released sometime in 2026.  The projected cost for the baseline edition with our new custom made K49 capsule will be $1500 shipped and 50% down will be $750.   We recommend this capsule only for the solid state edition, as we worked to create a special K49 capsule that had the right sensitivity to work with phantom power.  For right now, it is optimized to work with the capsule we've been developing for it with our designer, but we will work to test out the imported M7 as time permits once its in production.  We hope to begin shipping by the beginning of 3'd quarter 2026 (middle of year) but are currently taking deposits down for folks who want to be first in line, which will also help defray the massive metalworks deposit.
 
The SAE M49 solid state edition is based loosely on the original U47 FET circuit design but with a number of improvements, a transformer that attemtps to 'split the difference' between the design of the Fet47 transformer and the BV11 famously used in the M49, and is based around a very expensive gold-pinned audiophile grade transistor, and top shelf components from end to end.  Absolutely no electrolytic capacitors and a design that is intended to last for eternity.  The mic looks exactly like an M49, mounts in the same exact swivel yoke, and ships in the same exact briefcase.  It's cable is a 3 pin IP66 secure twist-locking connector on the mic and a male Neutrik XLR on the other end, and runs on standard phantom power.  It is true cardioid only.
