brief mid 2026 updates

Just a few quick updates for mid 2026 from Signal Art.

Our long awaited M49 bodies and other accessories are finally completed, gathered together, and are going to be finally shipping from a single warehouse location in Asia to yours truly by next week. They will probably spend 30-45 days on the water and then get trucked to me. This has taken a bit longer than expected but I feel they will be worth the wait. There are a number of people who put down deposits for M49's and they will be taken care of first, along with any other outstanding SAE orders. The M49 will not be put on the company website and made available for sale to the general public until the company has 100% satisfied all backorders of all products and services, because I just don't want to be overwhelmed. Please don't inquire about the mic if you are not already one of the pre-orders. When we are ready to make them available to the public, they will be put up for sale. That will probably be early next year. Of course all the pre-orders will go out this year; but everyone else will have to be patient. :) I believe it will be worth the wait.

We are working on a few new mic designs that will hopefully also see the light of day this year or next year, some of which are variations on the U47 concept that have historical significance, and others that are more unique. I don't want to say more, but hopefully will be able to say more soon!

Lastly, I have to just make a public service announcement for people inquiring about WA mic upgrades, mic repairs, and even other totally unrelated things like having me look at pieces of hardware, etc. I am a busy guy, I have a full time day job aside from this, which is just an after-hours passion project. I do not do any contract work, off-menu work, collaborations, repairs of obscure mics, upgrades to other mics, modification of gear, OEM design work, etc. I have a full plate. More than a full year after announcing the discontinuation of our popular WA mic mod program, I continue to get folks emailing me about it from all over the world. While I normally enjoy talking to folks and am even guilty at times of talking 'too much' to folks; in this instance I have to finally put myself behind a wall... Any inquiries of this nature going forward after the end of this month will just get a copy/pasted boiler plate response with no further elaboration, or just no response. People genuinely do not know how hard it is to find time even to complete the fully handcrafted mics I build for clients, which can often take months as it is to fulfill, and is the only part of the company I am trying hard to keep going while maintaining my other full time career. So, going forward I won't be replying in person to any inquiries that are not related to the legitimate products that we currently offer on the site. Those products are my focus, nothing else. I'm sure that folks can understand what it means to just be out of bandwidth. :)

Talk soon!

Chad
